my Approach & values
My approach to therapy (and anything really) is holistic, embodied, intuitive and creative. How we feel about our bodies has a tangible impact on the ways in which we show up on a daily basis. I believe through our own creative and sexual expression that we can be more meaning participants in or own lives, and the lives of others. Both our internal stories and external stigma play roles in shaping our sense of self. Awareness is our greatest superpower and key to start rewriting new stories!
I like to offer and encourage clients to utilise new, unique ways to visualise their feelings and experience. Including a new type of idea/ experience mapping activity I call Embodied Mind Mapping. An over-analyser myself, I often would get caught intellectualising or rationalising feelings instead of feeling them. A valid coping mechanism. However, I found that using some typical “thinking” tools in creative, novel ways actually helped me to get out of my head and into my body. While also not feeling scared to feel everything all at once! Embodied Mind Mapping helps you to feel one thing at a time, reflecting, with structure and safety.
Skills and models I use include:
Trauma-Focused Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Person-Centered Therapy
Art & Creative Therapies (art and craft)
Solution Focused Therapy
Transpersonal Therapies
Emotional regulation
Mentalization, reflection & “thinking about our thinking”

It can be challenging talking with a complete stranger about your body and intimate things, I get it! Here’s a few resources, blog posts and things to break the ice ;)
This workbook is based on all the things I love to share in my in person workshops and in my online courses. I’m bringing together a bit of my masters research project Yoni Listening, plus lots of resources I’ve used personally to rewrite my own vulva story. It includes things I’ve created especially for my yoni drawing, life art and modelling classes, and luv ya vulva craft classes.
Listen to Your Pussy Podcast
Welcome to the Listen to Your Pussy Podcast. My name is Zoe Awen.
This podcast features cutting edge creative research and conversations with real people, including artists, creatives, sacred sexuality wisdom keepers and more, all sharing their stories and perspectives about vaginas and being in a human body! Born from my academic research of sticking a hydrophone up my vagina, listening and recording her, I have begun to bring together the lessons I've learned from deep listening and the crazy conversations I've had.
