Art and craft as a conversation starter.

After two very successful ‘Love Ya Vulva’ workshops at the wonderful Woodford Folk Festival over the new year, I was reflecting on some of the feedback we received. Not only from those lovely souls who attended, but also from volunteers, men, and people who had heard about it.

Apparently the word spread! Lol.

The healing and liberation from being a life art model.

Being naked at home by yourself is one thing, but could you sit nude in front of a room full of artists?

When I suggest to try nude modelling, people normally scoff at me and say that they couldn’t possibly do that. And I admit, over my twelve year journey as a life art model and figurative artist I have had an array of experiences, including a rollercoaster ride of emotions about my body.

You just cannot quantify an art practice.

After another hugely successful Woodford Folk festival with sellout Luv Ya Vulva workshops again (this time four!) and amazing feedback about my art in the festival shop, I have yet again been reminded that this work will not leave me.

I was also fortunate to share my work and the workshops on the Good Morning Woodfordia show at Bob’s bar one morning with the gorgeous Fiona Scott-Norman and Corrine Grant. For some reason I wasn’t even nervous that there was about 300 people in the crowd!
